About the Base
Christophorus 17 is stationed in the heart of Styria and serves the surrounding Alpine region—which is often very difficult to reach by land—within a radius of approximately 20 minutes’ flight time. During nighttime hours, the operational area expands to include southern Lower Austria, central and southern Burgenland, and parts of Lower Carinthia. The base is staffed around the clock, 365 days a year, in a two-shift operation.
